Social Media
Connecting Facebook & Twitter
Lots of Facebook and Twitter widgets are displayed throughout the Mega-Theme. To make sure these get displayed, you'll need to connect your cause or campaign's account to you nation. To do this:
Sharing Image
Your sharing image is what will show up if someone shares one of your website’s pages on social media.
- So you don't have to add a sharing image for every page, you can create a default sharing image by going to your home page's Settings → Social media and uploading an image. If this is empty, your default sharing image will be your Site settings → Logo.
- You can override this default on any individual page by doing the same thing for that page.
Social Media Sharing Image Guidelines
- 1200 x 630
- .jpg or .png format
This is a good place to easily create social media images according to the above specifications.
Lastly, sometimes you’ll change your social media image and then test it out on Facebook but it won’t work. This is because Facebook only "scrapes" websites every so often for new material. To force a re-scrape:
- Go here.
- Enter your website’s URL
- Click Debug.
- Scroll down a bit and in the Time Scraped row, click the Scrape Again button. Then click it again a few times until your new image and information shows up.
- This will force the update.
